WILTON, N.D. -- A 4-year-old girl had to be rushed to a local hospital after she was found bleeding and in and out of consciousness near several horses.

Burleigh County Sheriff's Maj. Kelly Leben said both his department and the McLean County Sheriff's Department were dispatched to the residence in the 3400 block of 240th Avenue Northwest, near Wilton.

Leben said responders suspect the girl was kicked in the head by one of several nearby horses, though nobody witnessed that happen.

Leben said he was unable to provide an update on the girl's condition.
