Nutrient-rich lagoon water is pumped over two miles to Midway Colony’s surrounding 7,000 acres of crop fields. The colony has built its own drag line, using flexible Army surplus water lines that were designed for Middle East water supplies. The water is immediately knifed into the soil, to minimize odor.
