With overtime, paid at time and a half, it wasn’t unusual to see oil workers earning six figures annually.
The number of North Dakotans residing in rural areas has shrunk by more than 13,500 in the past 20 years. This contrasts with the urban population in North Dakota, which has grown by more than 60,000, according to the census.
